2008...a wonderful beginning
tomorrow I start a brief rehearsal for the upcoming tour of Small Metal Objects with the wonderful Back to Back Theatre. we are going to New York, where we'll be performing the play at the Staten Island Ferry terminal; then Toronto and then Vancouver. we leave on Monday. yes, Monday. oh boy oh boy oh boy. I'm pretty excited. I have been to New York a few times before, but have never performed there and have also never been there in the middle of winter.
so I've been doing a lot of swimming. yes, it has been hot, but also I have to get as much swimming in as I can before Monday. not that there's too much time, especially with rehearsals, meetings, organising, shopping, packing, seeing friends and finishing a talking book, because I just thought it might be an excellent idea to squeeze in a talking book before I go...crazy crazy me. luckily it's a good book: Shattered, by Sydney-based crime writer Gabrielle Lord.
so if you want to know about the tour I recommend Back to Back's website, which also tells you wonderful things about them. www.backtobacktheatre.com
I get back in the first week of February, but in the meantime will be amusing myself by writing about the trip. here, that is.
oh blessed travel, blessed performance, blessed mucking around!
