Shows
the first half of 2011
Tue 11-01-11, 10:10am - Thu 30-06-11, 10:11amThe first thing I’m working on this year is the publication of a beautiful limited edition of my novel, Stripped. Stuart Geddes, from chase and galley is doing the design, and the cover will be letter-press printed by Carolyn Fraser from Idlewild Press. The lanuch will be in the middle of March 2011.
At the same time, I’m starting work with Laurence Strangio on an adaptation of a recent Australian novel into a new one-woman show. I’m also slowly working away at another one-woman show about a politician’s wife, which is looking at issues of idealism, historical memory and nationalism.
At the end of March, I’ll be performing in Chamber Made Opera’s latest Living Room Opera, Minotaur — The Island, which is on in Bruny Island, Tasmania, as part of the Ten Days on the Island Festival. It will then do a short season in a living room in Melbourne.
In May, I’m working on a modern version of Six Characters in Search of an Author, by Pirandello, which is being directed by Laurence Strangio and will be on at La Mama, Carlton.
Finally, in June, the puppet play for adults, A Quarreling Pair, which toured with aphids to New York’s La MaMa theatre in 2009, has been invited to a puppet festival in Rome. So, its been translated into Italian, I’m polishing my Italian, and getting ready for another wonderful journey.
